Presentation

The Ambientech programme is an educational website with the aim to communicate and facilitate the learning process of Sciences, Technology and Environmental Sciences to Secondary School students.

This programme is a supportive tool for teachers who propose the learning of Sciences in the PCs classroom, with the ICTs, and with the help of multimedia activities including attractive animations and exercises with a high level of interactivity. Furthermore, all schools associated to this programme, can have all resources in English, Spanish and Catalan.

The Ambientech programme joins sciences and environmental sciences: On the one hand, it has the aim to contribute with basic knowledge of sciences and technology, and in the other hand, through this knowledge, to make our youngsters aware of the importance of being responsible with the environment.

Multimedia activities of this programme develop curricular contents of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technology and Social Sciences.

The educational resources are structured in several thematic areas, and add up to a total of more than 300 multimedia activities. Each thematic area contains an index where all didactic units, their contents and their correspondence can be looked up. To learn more about the Ambientech programme, you can click the objectives, methodology and authors sections.

Learning Sciences with an Environmental Focus

We give sciences an environment-friendly focus, in order to provoke the reflection of youngsters in environmental subjects and to achieve their acquisition of scientific knowledge and conscience taking of the necessity to be responsible and respectful with our environment.

Promote the use of English in Sciences

Another important issue, now fixed as the main pillar of this programme is the use of English as a vehicular language for the education in sciences. The insistence of a number of schools and the support of member schools have made this possible, and will be effective through the next course 2007-2008.
